Emma’s 16th Party!!!

 Ms. Emma is 16 years old! Crazy how time flies. 

For Emma's 16th birthday party I did a book theme. Reese and Nora helped me make some book page roses and we got old books from DI. I invited a lot of women in her life that have been influential to her and brought everyone together to celebrate Emma's life. Her aunts, Grandma's, a couple neighbors (Kat Swan, Shera Payne) and a few friends and teachers all came. Everyone wrote letters to Emma giving advice for the next 5 years of life. We all wore black shirts (Emma has always loved black) and had a lot of her favorite foods (croissant sandwiches, Mac n cheese, Cesar salad, pasta salad). We played a trivia game about Emma and her 3 friends got almost all of the questions correct. 

We had a great time!

Emma got her license on her birthday and has been a driving champion. She wasn't going to get her hours in time for her birthday until she helped drive me all the way to California and back for an old roommates (Michelle Walker) dad's funeral. We drove all day Sunday, went to the funeral at noon the next day and drove all the way home Monday afternoon/night. So she got all of her hours just in time to get her license! Emma has been helping me take sisters places like music lessons and soccer games...it's been so great and helpful!

Emma started at Pleasant Grove High school this last fall and it has been a transition for sure. She has been a champ but it's been hard to go from a charter school to a public school where everyone has their own friend groups established already. However, she has been in some fun classes at the high school. She LOVES stage crew and Hope Squad a lot as well as her ASL 2 class. 

Some things Emma LOVES: motorcycles, reading, listening to music, driving by herself, staying up at night, sleeping in, hanging out with friends, spending time with family. She is very responsible and does so much for our family. She has become such a fun teenager and we love having her around!
