Young-Close Family Pics

MM 5th Ward Girls Camp at Bear Lake

 Our girls camp this year was held at Bear Lake in Garden City Utah. We had such a great time!! The first day we went to the Church History Museum in SLC on our way up to the lake. Then we got there and set up tents and immediately got eaten alive by mosquitoes hahaha. That night we had a get to know the bishop evening and songs around the fire. 

Tuesday morning we started with horseback riding. We went in two groups since we had so many people. It was SOOO fun. Lots of girls had never been on a trail ride on a horse so it was fun to try something new. 

Cade brought up Nora and 2 of the YW Tuesday morning along with a bunch of kayaks. I loved having him there with me for a bit. And fun that Nora got to join too!

During the day we had lots of beach free-time with kayaking/paddleboarding and swimming. It was super fun. In the evening we went to Sister Maynes cabin and did a lip sync, played volleyball and had root beer floats. 

Wednesday we went to the Minnetonka Caves. We had to wait for a while for a reservation but I'm so glad we got in!

Our last night at camp it became incredibly windy all of a sudden. We knew our testimony meeting would be hard to pull off. One of the girls or leaders mentioned we should put our vehicles in a circle like the pioneers would do with their wagons. With the big trailer and 2 big vans it actually worked quite well. We had a very memorable testimony meeting and ended girls camp just perfectly. 

Young's Here the Whole Month of June!!

 The Young's came almost the whole month of June and Taft stayed through most of July too! It was so much fun for everyone. They slept at Grandma and Grandpa's house but we played every day together. I love that Taft and Shep and Ashur love the outdoors (especially Taft) so I took them on lots of outdoor adventures--Tibble Fork paddleboarding, hikes, etc. 

Jane and Tess did a cooking class together on Tuesday's each week. They had tons of fun together. 

Benson and Heath LOVED spending time together. They get along so well and are interested in all the same things. 

And then there's Reese and Taft 😆

We went to the Dino Museum together and had a good time. 

WE went to the Butterfly Museum for Tess's Birthday and Jane conquered her fear of butterflies!

I took Taft, Reese and Nora to hike the "G" on the mountain. Not a super long hike but SUPER steep. We had to take some rests but it was fun getting to the top. 

We had so much fun spending a huge part of the summer with them. We hope to do it again some day!
