We got some pictures of the girls taken. Just a quick 15
minute ordeal. But the reason behind it is what I wanted to write about.
Cade knows Chad Thornley from Fishbowl (work). Chad and
Sachi’s little girl Penny was diagnosed with brain cancer. The first few days
we had heard of this news, Cade said, “we need to go visit them at Primary
Children’s Hospital tonight.” It wasn’t exactly working to take the whole
family, so Cade ended up going by himself. Chad was absolutely shocked to see
Cade there in the lobby. They knew of each other but weren’t really close or
anything. Then we took our girls a few days later back to Primary’s to bring
her pictures the girls had colored and get to know her.
It’s been several months since that time and our girls know
her and we pray for her all the time. She has been through 3 brain surgeries,
radiation for two months and now is on her 2nd or 3rd
round of chemo (out of 9 treatments- each 6 weeks apart). It’s good for our
girls. To pray for a nother little girl. To serve another girl. To see someone
who we can help and realize our blessings. Any time things are hard, at least I
don’t have to go through the pain of having a child with cancer. It’s been so
hard to watch them go through it. So heartbreaking. We are grateful for the
friendships it’s created.
These pictures were taken by a photographer and all the
funds went to the Thornley’s. I am grateful for my healthy girls!
