Reese's 4 Year Old Unicorn Birthday! Real Live Unicorns and All!

Reese LOVES unicorns lately (and any other unique animal such as pelicans and kangaroos). So this year we had a unicorn friend birthday party for her and it turned out great. Not as much planning and time on my part as the craft intense Octonauts party for Emma :).

We started with coloring unicorn pictures and once everyone showed up we decorated our own "unicorn horns", played pin the horn on the unicorn and find the unicorn in the basement. Then it was time to go outside for the surprise! A friend that lives just around the corner brought her unicorn so the kids could ride it! It was a great hit and the kids loved it. Reese and Emma kept telling me, "Mom! It's a REAL LIVE unicorn! It's not fake! She told me she caught it in the woods!" They were very excited they got to ride a real unicorn :). I won't break the news to them until their teenagers :). My friend also brought her donkey so the kids to pet and brush it while they waited for their turn to ride. It was so great.

Then we went back inside and opened up gifts, decorated unicorn sugar cookies and had some snacks until mom's came to get everyone. Reese felt special and loved having friends come over. It was a great success!
