Painting Date Night

Cade has a great idea to take our girls to Painters Palate. They teach you how to paint a certain painting and you take that canvas home with you.  Our cute Emma and Reese LOVE to be artistic and paint, draw, color, and create. We had a great time with them. If course Reese’s favorite part was the ice cream afterwards :). We love our girls!

St Patrick’s Day

Well this was our first year doing more than wearing green. The girls were so excited to have our cousins over and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day (Even though I have no idea why we celebrate :)). It was simple. We invited Kristen and Andrews family over and had a fun green dinner with green chicken Alfredo, green homemade bread, green salad and veggies, green smoothie and rainbow fruit kobobs. Emma also did a treasure hunt for the kiddos where they got to find a pot of chocolate gold at the end of the hunt. It’s fun having older kids that get into things like this.

Disney on Ice

This was my first tile going to Disney on Ice and the last time Cade took Emma and reese they were only around 5 & 3 years old so they didn’t remember it at all. It was so much fun! I wish it were t so expensive or we would make it a yearly tradition. Most of the show was princesses and so it was perfect for my little princess loving girls. Our favorite parts were probable Rapunzel and Ugene flying on some silks high up in the air. That was not expected but an amazing part. The show did not disappoint!

Wrestling with Daddy

I just have to make a quick post about one of my absolute favorite things about our family. Every time Daddy gets home from work or right after we are done eating dinner the girls ask, "Dad, can we wrestle??" They LOVE to get on Dad's back and go for rides or have him throw them off. Of course someone usually gets hurt each time but it doesn't stop them from wanting to do it again. Cade is a trooper and pretty sure that is how he gets holes burned in his jeans so easily. They love their Daddy and it makes me so happy to see them all having fun together. Family is where happiness is at!

Ice Castles

We went to the Midway, UT ice Castles this year as a family and it ended up being really cool. The girls loved it. First, we got there and didn't know that Elsa and Anna would be there to greet our girls. Lucy was especially excited! There were cool slides for the girls to slide down and the ice sculptures were amazing. We ended with some warm cookies and hot chocolate. The girls are already asking when we get to go again.

Valentines Family Fun

Cade and I have had a lot of dates as of late (not to mention going to HAWAII!!), so we decided to have a special night with our girls this year. It was so much fun. In the morning there was a stuffed animal and rose from Daddy and I. Then at night we had a candle-lit dinner and made our own personal heart shaped pizzas, drank sparkling cider and ate yummy chocolate fondue with fruit and marshmallows. We opened our envelopes on our chairs that we can write notes to each member of our family. It was wonderful.

Oh and then Lucy fell on the tile and somehow managed to split her chin open. Luckily it could be repaired with some sterile strips and we didn't have to make an emergency room visit like two years ago with Nora.

LuLu Turns 3!

Our sweet, spunky Lucy is 3 years old now! Even though the tantrums can be in full force somedays at least we aren't dealing with her constant screaming all night long from being in pain (of course this last week she had her first ear infection in the last year, but a hard week we can take).

Lucy's stats from her Dr. appointment:
Weight: 32 lbs, 66%
Height: 39 inches, 86%

Lucy is happiest when she:
- Is eating go-gurts or applesauce packets
- Playing pretend with princesses or people (with Mommy)
- Riding her scooter or bike (with Mommy)
- On the "baby" swing outside
- Wrestling with Daddy on the floor
- In the shower (with Mommy). She could take a shower every day for HOURS and never get sick of it.

Lucy's smile is one of my favorite things. She can turn from grumpy-face to smiley at the drop of a dime and gets me every time. Her smile is priceless. She also started potty-training a few weeks ago and the first almost two weeks were pretty awesome. Caught right on! But then she decided poo wasn't necessary anymore- like at all- and I did NOT want to go down the same path Emma and Reese did. So we made another chart for going poo in the potty and she gets her Elsa toy when she fills it up. It is finally working and I am SOOOOO glad.

Lucy still tucks her hair behind her ears often or twists her hair in her hands (just like Mommy). She is very much a Mommy fan and has a hard time playing by herself with makes it hard for me to get anything done. I try to find the balance between playing and getting things done but she doesn't like when I won't play with play dough WITH her or play pretend WITH her or do stickers WITH her. Wait....that's why I bought you those things...so I don't have to feel guilty about not playing with you. I"m sure someday I will read this blog when she is grown up and doesn't want to have as much to do with me and I will MISS it. I am trying to enjoy this phase with her and all the one-on-one time we get together. In two months Lucy will be a big sister and mommy time won't be quite as available.

For her birthday family celebration, she wanted to go to the aquarium. She LOVES going there-especially for the big play area and playing on the orca statues.
