Young Women's and Young Men's Camps

 Right after we got back from California, Emma and Reese immediately packed again and left for Girls Camp. This year it was at Heber Valley Girls Camp. They both had a great time. It was Reese's first year going and she was most excited to tell me all about the animals they saw while there (which included badgers, deer, fawn, potguts (ground squirrels) chipmunks and moose!). They loved being in cabins and staying up all hours- except Reese- she likes to go to bed :). 

Cade went with the Young Men to Pineview. It wasn't quite as "High" adventure as years past but still had a good time! They camped right on the Pineview Reservoir and did some hiking, boating and rocket making/launching. 

AMAZING California Trip to the Young's

Tara and Johnny and their family moved to San Clemente last March. They live in a beautiful area and have a beautiful home and we absolutely LOVED visiting them this past June. Cade was able to word some of the week so he didn't have to take off too much work. The kids all loved playing, swimming, going to the beach. It was inexpensive and SO much fun. Our kids and their kids get along extremely well and so it makes vacationing with them easy. Here are some fun pictures from the beach time, swimming pool time, trolley ride, garage band time, the Temple, Downtown Disney, Pickleball, card games, crafts and more. 

This was at the Newport Temple. The 4 older grandkids were able to do baptisms for the dead and be baptized by proxy for Uncle Johnny who passed away last year. Then Tara came out and I went in and did sealings with Cade and Tammy and seal Aunt Cindy (Tammy's sister) to her parents. It was neat to be able to do family work. The spirit was very strong. 

Kellie in Buffalo, NY

 In June I was able to fly to Buffalo, NY for a week and help my friend Katie (Angerbauer) Egan while she was dealing with chemo treatments. She is only 35 years old and dealing with breast cancer. She has 3 little kids- ages 1 1/2, 5 and 8 and I am grateful I was able to provide a little relief for her and her family. Jeremy (her husband and Cade's good friend and college roommate) was just finishing his medical residency. They had a home being built in Oklahoma and Jeremy started his new full-time job as a surgeon the first of July. In Katie's words, "you can't make this kind of crazy life up!" Cade's mom was able to take care of all of my kids while I went to take care of Katie's. The kiddos were having a rough time but they were all trying their very best. Katie was such an inspiration to me of looking to the future with faith and making jokes to help her be strong. She was always so positive and I am so grateful for all I learned from her while I was there!

Hiking Date

 

Cade and I went on a hiking date to Lower Bell Canyon in Sandy. It was long and hard and SO much fun. The last half of the trail had water coming down and made it a great adventure. When we got to the falls the water was AMAZING and HUGE. I love being in the outdoors with Cade. So fun.
