Random Fun!

Lots of fun moments to remember!

Jane and her preschool class. We have loved The PEAC this year. A little more pricey than I have liked but Jane has absolutely loved it.

Jane and Mia Swan dressing up and doing make-up on themselves 😅

Nora got a HUGE Lego treehouse for her birthday and would work on it at Grandma's house (so no little hands would destroy it at home). She finally finished it and it looks amazing.

Nora's orchestra concert.

Took the girls Ice Skating for an online Friday. It was Jane's first time and she loved it. Even Benson loved it! Grandma Close came too and was a huge help.

Riding animals at the University mall.

The Lindon park. Fun times!

Lucy's "Reader's Theater" in 2nd grade. She was the big bad wolf in the 3 little pigs story. The second picture is their fairytale lunch. Her teachers, Mrs. Roberts does such a great job making things so fun for the kids!

Jane doing her Kindergarten check-up with Dr. Cox. We love our doctor!

Emma's orchestra concert.

Went to the temple to do baptisms with Jeneane and Kenzie Waite (Madi was sick).

Lucy's Baptism Day

Lucy chose to be baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is such a great example of following her Savior, Jesus Christ. The program was shared with our neighbors, the Thatchers. James Thatcher and his cousin Julia were also baptized the same day.

The children did a musical number "I Feel My Savior's Love" with Lucy's dad, Cade Close, playing the guitar. It was beautiful. A funny moment though was when all was silent and the children going up to sing their musical number, Cade motioned to me to come sit closer and lead them. So I thought, "I should look up the words on my phone to make sure I don't lead them astray." But as soon as I opened my phone, the Bluey Introduction Song came on and was super loud. I hurried and turned my phone off but it was too late...everyone in the room knew what song it was and there were some giggles around. It was pretty funny.

Lucy had all of her cousins on my side of the family there, as well as both sets of Grandparents, most of her aunts and uncles and Rachel Bagley who came to support her. It was a beautiful day!

Another "Where's Waldo" in the Books

Cade was asked to do the Where's Waldo activity for our ward again. I did it last year and he did it the year before that but we have fun. Since he was doing it and I said it was best to do it together, then I just tagged along with him. It's fun now that Emma and Reese are in Young Women's.

Lucy liked that I matched her with dark, short hair :).

Valentine's Day

Another LOVE dinner in the books. This time we had Rachel Bagley come eat with us so that was fun to have a change. We open our letters and have a candlelit dinner. So fun. Reese, Nora and Lucy all had Bluey themed valentines boxes this year (of course 😊).

Lucy Turns 8

Since year 8 is special with a baptism we let the girls choose just a few friends to do an activity and a treat with. Like a small birthday party but not at our house and no invitations, decorations and planning :). Easier for me. So Lucy invited a few school friends and we went swimming at the Swimmin' Hole in PG where the girls have taken lessons before. They swam and ate creamies and popsicles and had a great time.

For her birthday she got new LEGOS, Bluey shirt, a polaroid camera from Grandma Close and her very own flute to start lessons. She chose to have Oreo balls and ice cream for her birthday dessert.

Some things about Lucy. She just started flute lessons in February. She wanted to choose a different instrument than her sisters but wanted something small enough and that she could play in church. Just 2 months into lessons but she is liking it. And realizing how hard it is to make a sound out of that instrument. I couldn't even do it!

Lucy is full of light and life and constantly wanting to have fun with friends and sisters. She loves to entertain and put on "shows" for others. Lucy is determined and has made HUGE strides in school. Math and reading are becoming easier and easier now because she is determined to work hard. She won the "Little Abe Award" at school because her teacher nominated her for being "drama free" and "a kind friend to everyone" and for "working so hard in school." We love Lucy and love her in our family.

Family Ski Trips 2024

Another ski season in the books at Sundance! This was Lucy’s first time getting a season pass and she was a trooper!!! She was pretty nervous but just one evening of the bunny hill and she was ready to move onto the big hill. We were so proud of her. She loves that she can zoom down the mountain with her older sisters (and wait at the bottom for their mom 😆).

It was a great season. I am actually enjoying it now and Cade and I love that we can have a winter activity that we can do as an entire family. Emma isn’t a big fan of it but everyone else loves it so much. Hopefully Emma can endure doing it so she can be included in the family winter time!

This picture was from the sales revenue kickoff Cade organized at Fishbowl. He had a great time skiing with some buddies.

This day was super fun. We took Nora and Reese out of school and went skiing during the day. There were tons of slopes I had never done before. It was so fun.

Nora Boo’s 10th Birthday

Nora also wanted a Bluey birthday party like her sister Reese. But she wanted me to make a "duck cake" just like the duck cake episode of Bluey. It was a little tricky but I figured it out and put at least 87 toothpicks in it to keep it from falling apart- hahaha.

For her birthday party we played all the same games- keepy uppy, charades, sticky gecko, etc. Then dessert and gifts and watched some episodes of Bluey. It was great fun! Nora invited about 10 friends from school and one best friend from the neighborhood- Lucy Swan.

Nora is becoming a rock star on the violin. She has now played for over 3 years. She has had frustrations and lessons she hasn't enjoyed but has pushed through and is getting really good. Nora is such an important part of our family. Everyone wants to play with her and spend time with her- especially her little brother, Benson! He is in love with Nora and wants to play with "Ora" all the time! Oh, speaking of nicknames...Nora has gained quite the list of fun nicknames- Noral (Lucy's baptism program), Norma, Nord (from getting ski rentals, apparently I don't write very legibly), Nordal, and of course the best, Nora Boo.

We love Nora so much and the young lady she is growing into. She never complains when I ask her to help me. She LOVES food as much as I do and likes to be in the kitchen cooking and baking- especially when she and Lucy Swan make up their own food creations. That's their favorite. She is an amazing daughter, friend and sister and we love her!
