Love my one year old (Photos)

My friend Megan Heaps came over and took one year old pictures of Emma for me. Oh, isn't she just the cutest little thing you ever did see???!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE how they turned out! She wasn't cooperating very well because she is such a busy, busy girl and didn't understand why I kept placing her back on the ottoman...but we got some GREAT shots of her cute little face! After a long hour of trying extremely hard to keep her in place, Megan had the best idea! She found bubbles in her bag! We sat Emma back on the ottoman and I have NEVER seen her so still and so mesmorized. The bubbles were magic and we got some more good shots. I LOVE my one year old! (I know there are TONS of pics but I couldn't decide!)

Happy FIRST birthday sweet baby girl!

Yep, Emma turned 1 year old today! I can't believe it! I mean she is only 16 pounds :)...but she is definitely acting like a 1 year old....getting into the toilet, pulling the TP off the rolls, pulling books off shelves, and babbling all day long. Oh, I LOVE her! She has started walking- at least she takes steps now and is learning to gain balance long enough to walk across the room. Emma now tries to tell Cade and I things. It's really cute when we know she wants so badly for us to understand her babbling. Today we gave her her first taste of chocolate cake...she was in heaven. She was timid at first, but once that first crumb made it into her mouth, she couldn't get it in fast enough. It was really fun to see! I gave her a taste of ice cream too, but that was a little too cold :). We ended the night with some gifts from Grandma and Grandpa Close and Tara, Johnny, and Ashur. I let her open most of them...I couldn't sit there for 10 min for a single present to be opened. After every tiny piece she ripped off, she needed to stick it in her mouth.

We'll post more pics after celebrating with my family on Sunday. And Emma will be getting her first birthday pics taken on Saturday.

I still can't believe...one whole year since her and I were both in the hospital together! She has come so far and is doing SO well.

Happiest Place on Earth!

Yep, I LOVE Disneyland...I kind of want to go back and live there forever. But you know, it makes it so much more priceless and fun and amazing when you only can go every so often. It had been 5 years since I've been (with Boose and my good friend Laurel). This time was amazing like always, but I got to spend this with my wonderful companion! Cade had a conference planned in LA Mon-Thurs morning. I was planning on spending the week with my Mom in Bountiful cause I hate sleeping at my house alone. Well, one evening I got a fun surprise on the floor of the garage...there were little Disney princess stickers on the floor. I followed the long trail to our bedroom where there was a note.... Emma followed every little sticker as I picked them up....took a while! I was SO happy! We had talked about going sometime next year with just us two, but didn't know when we could make it happen. He surprised me and it made me so incredibly happy! Since he already had his flight paid for, he decided to buy me a ticket to fly out there Thursday morning. Cade's parents drove all the way up from Arizona and stayed at our house and watched Emma! It was a huge help and we were so grateful for them so we could make this happen!!!

I have to start with another story. Cade and I decided that I should try and move my flight earlier Thursday morning so we could have the entire day Thursday to fit in as much fun as possible. We had called Delta and they said one option was to wake up at 3:50 a.m. (3 hrs before the flight) and see if there was still room to switch. Cade kept saying Tues. evening "now you have to set 3 alarms so you'll wake up that morning." Then I went to bed. I woke up sometime in the night when Emma was whinning. My head POPPED off my pillow and I panicked! "What time is it?!" I looked at my clock and it said 5:00 in the morning. I immediately picked up the phone and thought it was a lost cause...there were probably no more seats available! As I was talking to the automated person, I thought again "I HAVEN'T EVEN PACKED!" I freaked out again! There was no way I could make the 6:50 flight! Then I remembered....it wasn't Thursday yet...I started cracking up at myself and then went back to bed. Luckily on the REAL Thursday, I woke up when I was supposed to, was fully packed and ready to go :). (However, I couldn't sleep all night cause I was afraid I was going to miss my flight...again.)Usually CAde is the one to do crazy things in his sleep...he thought that story was pretty great!

Here are some great pictures from our trip:

I love these next pictures. So the first 2, I am hiding and not as enthusiastic as Cade, however the 3rd picture is from Tower of Terror...let's just say, not Cade's favorite ride. I've never heard him scream like that...EVER...oh, I'm laughing as I'm writing this. It was perhaps one of my favorite moments...I was laughing SO hard at him! I didn't make him go on it again, but it was a good memory :)!

We loved the Halloween decorations and theme! It made it so much more fun! On Friday night, there was Mickey's Halloween party and we're so glad we did it. Cade and I got to be kids again (if Disneyland alone didn't do that) we got to go trick or treating around the park, then at night there was a Halloween parade and an amazing Halloween Fireworks show. It was awesome! There we so many fun costumes; my favorite was the little nemo...I had to get a picture :). Cade shooting Zurg and his followers :)...he did great...

And of course pictures with the Disney Princesses! This was by far the longest line we had to stand in. Most rides were only 15 minutes long....this took almost an hour. But hey, we were kids for the weekend and LOVED it!
And yes, Boose, despite what you want to believe, Tiana IS one of the Disney Princesses afterall...They can add princesses after a couple decades, just because they're Disney!

Ah, yes, someday we'll take our children, but for now...Cade and I had a blast with just the two of us!!!

{If you want to share in some of the Disney and Halloween Fun:)

One year ago....

I can't believe it's been a whole year since being on bed rest! Oh, the memories! I definitely don't miss sitting on my bum all day long for weeks, and I don't miss looking outside the window watching my favorite season pass by, and I DEFINITELY don't miss having my blood taken every single day...but I am so grateful that my baby Emma is healthy and that I am healthy too! Life is good!

And one year later...one cute baby!

Cutest girl EVER videos

Oh, I love my sweet little mover. Emma is almost 11 months and around 15 lbs. She is such a climber and never holds still unless she is eating and sleeping (yes, diaper changing is near impossible...she turns over and almost goes off the edge in the middle of it...EVERY TIME!). She is at such a fun stage where you can really start interacting with her more and more. She is such a fun little girl to be around and is very positive and happy!

Here are some fun videos of her:
She has many sounds. Some happy...

...And some sad! But I think this next video is acutally pretty funny. The dishwasher door wouldn't stay down long enough for her to pull the rack out. She got very upset...but it was so cute I couldn't resist video taping it :)...

Emma started army crawling at 7 months and some people said she looked like a frog :). She got around so fast though that she didn't feel a need to crawl up on her knees.

Then at 10 months she learned how to get up. She sure gets around to every corner of the house. She loves exploring!
