Snow suits and Shots

Emma's aunt Tara gave her a cute snow suit before she was born and since we had the huge snowstorm a couple weeks ago, we thought it was the perfect time to bust it out! She looked awesome...have you seen "A Christmas Story"? The part where the little boy can't put his arms down cause he has so many layers on? That's what it reminded me of! It was hilarious! Here she is :):
(Man! The video won't upload. Tara, I'll email the video if it still won't show up on here:) ).

Emma also had her 4 month check up last week. She is healthy and doing really well! Her stats went from <1% in all categories (at 2 month check up), to still below 1% in weight, but jumped to 25% in height! Tall, just like her daddy! We're appy she is doing well. She also got her 4 month shots at the appointment and since we gave her tylenol at the doctor's office, this is how she felt (a little different than last time!):

Emma LOVES to suck on her hands. When she can't find them...her dress will do.

After bath time

Her fuzz is coming in on top :)

Videos for Grandma Close

We finally got the digital camera we wanted! I LOVE taking pictures...mainly of Emma...so we saved up money to get a new camera. We also wanted to get a digital that could also take HD video since Grandma and Granpa Close and Tara and Johnny don't currently live very close. Now they can see her grow up! So I started taking videos of Emma, but she will be smiling great until I get the camera out. Then she just becomes fixed on what I am holding above her head. It is great. I wish she would smile more for the camera, but she is still darling in them...well, I think so :).

Just talking away

Okay some smiling.... :)

Cutest sneeze (wait til the end)

Who else loved the weather this last couple days?! I went out and took Emma on a walk around the temple and we visited Daddy at work! It was so great to get outside. I love spring!

I just love my family

Isn't my family just great...this picture says it all! I was just going through some old pictures from last summer and this is one of my favorites! I don't know what I would do without such great people in my life. I love them all so much. Too bad I was the one taking the picture :). Good times!

Oh, and for those who are wondering...this was taken after having a marshmellow war with PBC pipes. It's even better if you click on the picture and it's blown up :)...I'm sure for those who are in the picture really want you to see their faces bigger too :).

Now I'm a Believer...

Someone once told me that there will come a day where I wake up in the morning and be in complete shock because the baby never woke up in the night. Well...Emma slept through the night last night for the first time ever! I fed her at 8 pm and she didn't wake up until 6 am!!! She slept for 10 hours and I slept for 8 hours straight. There are some (Tara:)) that need to believe that there will come a day for you too. All I can say is...I'm a believer.

Our little sweetie

Our friends, Matt and Kelsey, gave us this really cute outfit for when Emma got "a little bigger". Well, she is now "a little bigger" and it fits! She was not cooperating until she got her nap in though. I love our little angel.

Some things about Emma:
1. She has now discovered that she has hands and she finds it rather exciting. She constantly has them in her mouth and gets slobber all over things now :).
2. She can't stand to sleep during the day in her own bed. She likes to be in her car seat or in my arms where all the action is.
3. She does however sleep wonderfully at night!!! That is what matters :). She only wakes up one time within 9 hours...wonderful.
4. I think her changing table is her favorite place in the world. Whenever I put her on it she immediately starts smiling and kicking her legs! She loves it. I'm pretty sure it's because I usually change her diaper before feeding her. So to her changing table = full tummy.
5. She loves talking to Cade and I now. She will make all sorts of noises and I'm sure she is trying to tell us something...

This shirt says it all..

She likes to sleep in her carseat...I guess so she can ponder life...

Blessing little Emma...her big debut!

Sunday was a great day! We got to bless our little Emma and it was a beautiful blessing. It was Emma's first appearance in public and she acted like a little angel :). She was really sleepy, so I'm sure that was most of it. Here are some pictures with all of the family from the day. We had everyone over for some brunch after and it was great to have all of the family with us (well, mostly...we missed you Tara and Johnny!).

Stephanie made Emma and matching bracelets for the special day. They were beautiful. After Emma was blessed and Cade held her up, she raised her arm so everyone could see her pretty wrist:).

During the weekend, we also got to celebrate Grandma's 80th birthday! We took the family to Chuck a Rama and surprised Grandma with people, cake and decorations. It was fun. Happy birthday Grandma!!!

It was such a great weekend and we are so grateful to God for blessing us with a beautiful, healthy baby. She is doing really well and we couldn't be happier!

Yay for sleep! Thanks to Daddy...

Last night Emma slept from 9:30 to 4:30 in the morning!!! 7 whole hours of sleep and therefore that meant that Mommy got almost that (I went to bed at 10). So when she woke up to eat I was wondering why I wasn't as sleepy as normal and to see a 4 on the clock was a miracle! :) It's amazing how much the little things mean. Well, this miracle all came to pass because of what happened a few hours before...

Emma was not a good girl for Daddy in the evening. I went out for a couple things and told Cade if she got hungry to feed her a bottle. For some reason when Cade tried to feed her, she ate some, but then got really upset and just started screaming. He tried feeding her more...nope...didn't help. He tried everything, but when I returned after about an hour of screaming and learning that she was being a difficult little princess, I tried breast feeding her and she immediately was calm. That's all...I think she isn't fond of the milk that I've kept in the freezer because we've tried it twice now and it wasn't what she wanted and she got all worn out trying to put daddy in her place! Well, this is what Emma had to say...

Too bad I am probably going to have to throw away our year supply of Emma milk...

Hopefully not. That was a lot of work on my part. But as long as she's a happy, adorable baby for me...I'm okay!

Well, for an update on Emma:
She is a whole 8 1/2 pounds now!!! Little chunk. I took some pictures cause I think it's so cute that she is finally getting a belly and a double chin and all the cute fat that comes with being a baby:).

Emma has developed a rash this last couple weeks on her face, head, and neck. I took her into the doctor's and found out it is just a dry skin rash (can't remember the technical name). So we have to put lotion on her a few times a day. She definitely doesn't like that either. It's helping the rash go away. But these are her before and after poses when it's lotion time...

We get to bless her this Sunday and I am very excited for that. Cade's family gets in to town tonight from Arizona...fun, fun!
