Girls First Backpacking Trip

Emma and Reese went on their first backpacking trip and I was SO sad to not be able to go with them. I've never been backpacking and have wanted to do it- especially if someone else is planning it and I can tag along because it seems a little daunting. I had bought tickets for the music valley deer festival months before so I didn't go. They had such a great time though. Reese's backpack was about as big and heavy as she was :). They went with about a dozen Young Women and a bunch of leaders. Emma had her best friend, Autumn there and Reese had Brooke. They loved it all!

Random Summer Fun

Just a random compilation of fun things in the summertime!

Emma got her braces off and then we celebrated by going to the Parade of Homes! Emma had been looking forward to it for many months!

Super fun day going to a new Bike pump track and then to a little museum in South Jordan called "Gale Center of History and Culture". It's free!

Saratoga Springs Temple open house. Cade went with the Young Men an earlier time so we took Gma and Gpa during the daytime.

We had an aquarium pass this year and it's been fun to take different people with us each time!

I do these exercises to strengthen my back and core and every time I do "the bridge" Benson comes and does it too. It's so cute.

Splash Summit water park in Provo with the Waite's.

The Kingsfords invited us over for swimming time now that their new pool was built.

Cade and I went to the Deer Valley Music Festival in Park City. The Utah Symphony was doing a concert with John Williams music. When they started with Jurassic Park Cade had a couple tears. It was so fun.

We went to Nathan and Steph's house for a sleepover. We made homemade pizza, had movie night, played games, and then in the morning we made yummy pancakes, went on a hike and went swimming. It was a great time.

Emma and her friends went to see the Barbie Movie for Ollie's birthday.

Lucy and her friends doing water fun together.

Nora did a tennis camp with neighborhood friends and loved it.

Reese and Emma have loved being able to go to the temple with friends. I love that we live SO close to the temple!

We finally went floating the Provo River this summer!!! I've been wanting to take my girls to do that for sooooo long and we finally made it happen. Cade's cousin Casey and Ehren and their daughters Morgan and Cali came with us. It was so much fun! Lucy unfortunately didn't enjoy it much. There was too much unknown and she was much too anxious. But it was great for the rest of us! :) Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Close for making it happen. They drove us to the top and then drove to the bottom to wait for us. Next summer we"ll have to go on a weekday. Saturday was a little too insane.

Lucy invited her girls cousins over for a "Cinderella Party." They had a tea party and watched the live action "Cinderella".

I LOVE HIKING WITH MY GIRLS!!! This was a last minute "I need to get up into the canyon ASAP" moment. Autumn and Brooke came with us and we hiked Stewart Falls. It was so beautiful and we were able to go pretty fast since Nora was the youngest. They all hiked so good.

Benny :). He hates loud noises and covers his ears every time I started the blender. He loves helping me make smoothies though. He actually LOVES helping me to anything in the kitchen. Baking, mixing, cooking. He's there.

Sunday walk up Bridal Veil Falls. We love to talk about the morning Cade proposed to me a long time ago :).

An awesome Date night with Mom and Dad and all the siblings. We did a city treasure hunt in Provo and had the best time. This time it was boys against girls. Us girls go the last spot WAY before the guys, but of course when the boys showed up Andrew found the treasure so fast. It was super fun!

The Talbot's invited us with kiddos to have an end of the summer pool party in her backyard. So nice of her.

Boating at Deer Creek with all the cousins! It was originally going to be Pineview but plans changed and we went to Deer Creek. The kids absolutely love boating and tubing. Emma got up with Wake surfing for the first time.
