We had the best time adventuring down south in southern Utah. We got an Airbnb in Green River Utah, which is right in between Moab and goblin Valley. It ended up that Brian and Jennie were also in Green River at a campsite two minutes from our Airbnb, and Nathan and stuff were in Moab all the exact same time as us! One of the girl’s favorite things about the whole trip was renting a 15 passenger van! We all loved it so much that we’re actually looking into buying one now.
The first day we packed up in the morning and drove down to Goblin Valley first. We did about a 3 mile hike to Goblin’s Lair. At the very end had the boulder a bunch to get up to the entrance to the cave and then it was a lot of bouldering to get down into the cave. It was too hard with babies on our backs so after we bouldered up I had Cade take the older 4 down into it. After we hiked back to the main parking lot we let the kids have a blast in the Valley of the Goblins. It is perfect for all ages to hike and explore and play around in. We had been told that by so many people but hadn’t done it yet. I’m so glad we did. Jane keeps asking when we get to go sleep at a different house and go hiking again. She loved it!
On our way out we stopped by at Little Wild Horse canyon. It was beautiful and very worth it. The slot canyons were absolutely amazing and I wish you would’ve been able to stay in there longer, but the kids were getting tired. When we got back to the parking lot, our car was literally the only car there. I guess everybody leaves earlier. We then drove back to our Airbnb and the kids stayed up entirely too late, but we had such a great first day!
On Friday we woke up and hung out at the Airbnb for a little while and then drove to dead horse point State Park to meet up with Nathan and stuff. We hiked around there for a while and had a great time. The views were great. Then we found some picnic tables and had lunch.
After lunch, we drove out of that state park and went into canyonlands national park. We just went to Mesa arch, which is a pretty small hike but the views were amazing. After that the kiddos were all kind of done with hiking so we went into town and to Moab and we went to a Rock shop and then had dinner with Nathan and Steph’s family.
After dinner, we went back to Green River and tried to find a little beach for the kids to play on, but we didn’t go far enough down that road and ended up going to Brian and Jennie’s campsite and hanging out with them for a little while. We decided not to go to Arches on Saturday because the kiddos were pretty tuckered out by Friday night. But when we woke up Saturday morning, Rees was very disappointed that we weren’t doing more hiking. She is our hiking lover, which is really funny because of the videos I have of her when she is three and four years old screaming all the way up the hikes 🤣. I’m so glad she has found a love for it! We woke up Saturday morning and just did a little Easter egg hunts around the house and then cleaned up and packed up and drove back in to Utah County. We took them to the all abilities park in Spanish Fork, which was super fun. After we did some unpacking I took the to the pool to swim while Cade did some more unpacking.
I absolutely love adventuring with my family and the outdoors! It was so much fun! But now we have to buy a giant van for all of our future vacations 😆
